Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Sunday, November 20, 2011

Welcome to another edition of Scavenger Hunt Sunday. This week's themes were a bit of a challenge to me. I had some good ideas for the prompts at the start of the week, but most didn't turn out as I had hoped. But, I learn through every effort and I suppose that equates to a win, right?

I have come to realize that I have a lot to learn about indoor photography. I stink at it! Most of our walls are painted a deep color and getting the lighting right without a lot of noise has proven quite a challenge. It's something I will continue to work on. The oncoming shorter wintry days will provide plenty of opportunities for practice I'm sure.  Now, on to this week's entries...

Mainly One Color - the leaves scattered across our backyard:

Around the Home - found this baby in the closet. I had almost forgotten we had it.
It was given to me by my in-laws (sweet!). I really need to get some film and play with this!:

Reflection - this was a fun idea that was poorly executed by me. I'll definitely revisit this soon. I was being pulled in too many (domestic) directions to do it justice:

Writing - it's almost time to mail this one:

Water - the river was high after a recent rain and I captured these guys hanging on the seawall:

That's it for this week. Up next week: waiting, foliage, candid, knife, fork or spoon, and rule of thirds.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today! I hope you have a fantastic week ;)

I think your reflection shot is really cute! The water shot is beautiful and so are the leaves! Really lovely set!

As far as the walls, I keep thinking...ummm, if I paint this wall that, and this wall this, and this wall black, then I'd always have the backdrop I wanted available :)

This is a great set! Love that reflection shot! I had dark walls & little sunlight in our last home & I remember how frustrating it is. I wish I had some good advice but I guess I would say to try to take shots nearest to the windows. But these are really great :)

My favorite is the last one. I like the how the geese are all doing something a little different. Good find!

I love your set! Those leaves on the ground... great shot. You must have gotten really down low for that. Beautiful. :)

I love the way the letter looks in that photo. Gorgeous!

Funny how you said lighting and noise, because I don't even know what that means. That's how bad I am at photography!

Awesome reflection & I love that vintage camera. I was just telling the hubs that I need to be on the lookout for some to collect.
