Happy Friday my friends! Hard to believe it's February here, when it's been in the 70s most of the week. The forsythia and daffodils are blooming, and the flowering trees are budding up too. I am loving the warmer days.

We are on the tail end of basketball season, and in the midst of cookie sales for Girl Scouts. Other than that, life has been pretty calm around here lately. Well, as calm as it gets with 4 kids and 3 Great Danes anyway.

I took the girls downtown to visit the bookstore the other day, and took a few pics on our trip:

And a few iPhone pics:
This is what its like to sit down on the couch at our house. Don't bother trying to watch TV. You won't see much.

What was your view like this week?

Hey friends, happy Friday! This week we've seen more sick ickies passed around the family - fortunately not the flu, but a nasty cold for sure. Currently hubs is down for the count. : /

We have also had some lovely warm days, in the 60's and low 70's, so we've enjoyed some outdoor time when we were able. We even took the kids to the beach last Sunday to enjoy the open space and warm breezes. It was overcast, and a short trip, but a treat to be by the shore nonetheless. We happened upon a beach with lots of perfectly shaped skipping stones. A fun little competition ensued. I remember my dad teaching me how to skip stones across Lake Michigan, so I love that we made this memory with our kiddos.

Happy Friday friends! This week brought some sickness to our crew, and no one was much in the mood for my photography antics. So, I went about experimenting on my own. I played around a bit with some reverse macro freelensing just to see what I'd come up with.

As we were house bound, most of what I photographed around home was rather uninteresting, even in macro form, I thought. But when I shifted focus, I got some abstract images and light leaks that I kind of liked. I may even use some of the light leaks as overlays every once in a while, since they are easy enough to add to images. I've edited a few below to stand alone, just for kicks.

It's interesting how a different perspective can produce something which renders the subject unidentifiable. Can you guess what I was photographing?

The first four are a mason jar and the last two are curtains by a window.

That's pretty much all I've got this week. That and a dog face. :)

Hey friends, happy Friday! This week has been busy, though when I look back it doesn't seem like I accomplished all that much, ha ha. Just the usual schooling, house work, kids' activities and a lovely elopement session + editing. The week flew by though. We have a busy weekend ahead too, with basketball games, team pictures, a visit from MawMaw and an awards ceremony/formal dinner for hub's work.

Thursday I took the girls on a mini adventure to the arts district in downtown Norfolk. It was a breezy warm 60 degrees, so we headed out to explore and take pics. It was a fun little excursion. They even got along for over an hour! #winning I have a ton of pics to share but have only had time to edit a few. I may come back and add more later, but wanted to get this post up before it got too late. (Photos added 2/2/18)
