36,500 Days around the Sun

My beautiful grandmother celebrated her 100th birthday over the weekend. I put together a photo album and a short video with images and keepsakes that the family collected over the years. I truly enjoyed digging into our family history and taking a trip down memory lane to create these gifts for my grandmother.

I am absolutely in awe of her strength and grace. She amazes me every day! What a beautiful, full life she has led. I regret that I was unable to attend the celebration in person, but I was most definitely there in spirit. And I'm thankful that she was able to celebrate surrounded by many family members and friends.

Unfortunately, I do not have all of the names to give proper credit for these beautiful images, but I wanted to share a few here. I would be glad to give full credit to whomever may claim their creation.

Happy 100th birthday Mimi!! Love you bunches!

Throwback Thursday

There are no more tricycles at my house. I miss the little round toes, the warm snuggles after nap time, the baby scented bath soap, and the small voices chatting in the backseat of my car. 

They grow up so fast. 

Daily Dwelling

Sharing more 365 images today. I'm am so not a fan of winter. I long for sunshine and warm breezes.

By the way, I have a really hard time just shooting or selecting one image, so my 365 is more of a series of daily images that may or may not go together. My processing will also probably be all over the place. But hey, that's part of the fun and freedom of a personal project right? No rules!! :)

Happy Friday friends! I hope you've had a great week and that you aren't frozen! Enough of winter already - I've had my taste, thanks. ;)

So, I am attempting a 365 this year. After a little over a week I have already come to the conclusion that my life is extremely boring, ha ha I don't know how I'll make it through a year of photos. I am going to have to get very creative.

Wordless Wednesday

I got to spend some time with my baby niece and her awesome family last week. It was such a special  treat! Of course, I had my camera in tow.  Here are some of the shots I took.

Today was such an exciting day for us. We got to meet my new niece! She was born yesterday and is absolute perfection.
I couldn't be happier for my beautiful sister and her wonderful husband.

Little Things - Photographing from the Heart

It isn't often these days that I get time to shoot just for me. When I was first learning photography, I immersed myself in all sorts of weekly creativity challenges, 365 projects, workshops and just everyday practice. It was fun to be creative, learn new techniques and shoot what I love. Nowadays, I am almost always shooting for clients, and to be honest, when I'm not shooting or editing client images, I rarely feel like picking up my camera. While I am still learning and growing - a ton - with every session - I sometimes miss just shooting for me, from the heart. So these few images I'm sharing today are the ones I've taken over the past week or so that were just for fun, just for me and just from my heart and soul. They may not suit everyone's style and that's okay by me. I love them anyway.

Happy Friday friends! It has been an exciting week around here. I have been a busy bee getting ready for a big wedding this Saturday. We also endured a trip to the ER with my 6 year old, poor kid. He crashed his bike and tore a nail off, requiring 7 stitches. Fortunately, he's on the mend now.

Friday Photo Journal Link Up - 3/28/14

I'm afraid I don't have much to share this week. I spent most of my week working on client images and didn't take many of my own family. When I'm not editing, marketing or catching up on client correspondence, I have been trying to focus on my own kiddos and husband. That usually means setting photography aside for a bit and just playing. We also had a return of winter this week, which left me feeling less than inspired. I had hoped to get out and at least capture some early spring blooms, but it was just too icky out. So, I'll leave you with just this image of my girl, "working" on her bike.

Friday Photo Journal Linky 3/21/14

Happy spring everyone! I guess it is official now. Let's hope the warmer weather is moving in to stay!
Last week we had some warm days and some frigid, wet days. But, we are headed in the right direction, I think. I enjoyed getting back to the beach last weekend for a senior portrait session. It was so great to feel the sand beneath my toes again! The kids enjoyed some outdoor PE activities, and even donned bathing suits to help daddy wash the car over the weekend. I love seeing buds beginning to pop on the Bradford Pears and Forsythia. Hooray for spring!!
