Jon and Kate Separate

Monday, June 22, 2009

Ok, I know a lot of blogs have posted on this subject and the media hype is ridiculous. I used to love watching this show with my kids and we enjoyed it as a family. I no longer want them to watch. The whole thing is heartbreaking. I feel for all of them, but especially the kids. No one on the outside can truly know what goes on in a marriage. But, from the viewers seat it felt like they were totally giving up. Not making the separation an opportunity to work on things from a different perspective.

I really only have one thing to say about the subject and that is that they both (Jon and Kate) need to read this book, then go to therapy; if need be, quit the show, and find a way to save their family.

Did you watch? What were your thoughts?

I was sadden and disappointed to hear that they are divorcing. I just can't watch this show anymore. It actually put me in a bad mood.

I use to love that show. I remember first seeing the first one hour special right after my last kid was born. There I was at 5 in the morning feeding her and I stumbled upon their special.

I agree, they need to stop doing the show.

I too feel they need to do the same. I use to watch with my little one but we no longer watch as well. I did watch tonght...and it was just so sad. I won't be watching any longer and I pray they somehow let God take the reigns. I blogged about them as well...I just felt like I had to put in my two cents as well...we're not alone.

I have only watched a couple of episodes on YouTube since we don't have cable. I was curious about it, so I looked it up.

You can really see the division & between them in the episodes. Really sad for the kids!

Oh..and I love your new layout!

I can not agree with you more. I no longer will be watching the show as I honestly thought that they may have said just that last night -- "we are leaving the show and seeking therapy to save our relationship & family". but no, they are splitting up. It is really sad.

AMEN! I really feel for them. In their way to make it work financially they both messed it up emotionally. They are on time to save their family. I wish them the best...

Amen, that was my advice when I posted about the season premier. I DVR'd the episode you're referring to. I'm going to go watch it and probably post my thoughts by Friday. SAD, sad situation.

That is too bad. But what are they going to do with the kids? I bet it will turn into a huge custody battle. Look for more drama in this story.

I have watched this show for a long time and it just broke my heart to see them split. It seemed to me Kate didn't want to quit but Jon was ready to start a new life.

I don't totally blame him because she has always been tough on him and he has always been so passive.

Just so sad.... I just wonder if the show wont get canceled.

I think it's sad that the show came before their marriage. Jon and Kate have both changed. Jon wants to feel 32, and Kate wants to be a celebrity.

Of course, the kids are the ones who suffer the most. Even though they'll still be staying in the same house, having to yo-yo from one parent to another is stressful!

It's all so crazy isn't it. What a downward spiral they went on. I feel so sad for both of them. I've only watched online...it's so interesting how the whole country knows who they are and what's going on. Those poor kids.
