Friday Photo Journal - May 16, 2014

Thursday, May 15, 2014

Happy Friday all! It has been a crazy busy, exhausting week! Fortunately, the wedding on Saturday went well, but I woke up on Sunday aching from the tips of my hair to my toenails.  I then had a session on Sunday, a session on Monday, and a session on Tuesday. By Wednesday, I was ready to drop. The rest of my week was spent homeschooling and editing and not much else.

So, I only have one photo to share today. I took this shot when I noticed the full moon on my way home from my last session of the week. I was too tired to park the car and get out, so I stopped at a light and shot this out of my car window. How's that for lazy?!

What have you been up to?
I'd love to see your favorite photos from this week! Please share your link below.

Friday Photo Journal - Week 50

Thursday, December 19, 2013

Hello sweet friends! Happy Friday - one of the last of this year! Can you believe it?
It has been another crazy busy week around here and Christmas is nearly upon us. I still have sooooo much to do. How about you?

Just sharing a pick of my little brownie thief this week, then I'm off to prepare for a visit from my in-laws, and a weekend of portrait sessions. Then there's the baking, errands, the last of the Christmas cards to write, the wrapping, cleaning, laundry....oy!

Little Things Thursday - Fair Little Ladies and Fairy Dust

Wednesday, May 29, 2013

I found a fantastic little spot for a photo session last weekend. Two little shops with cheery cottage style and Key West colored paint. I took my girls to shoot there Sunday evening and they gave me a real work out. I was running all over to keep up with them, especially Little Miss, lol. It is always a challenge to coerce your own kids into cooperation in front of the camera. I did manage to get a few shots that I like, among a bunch of throw-aways. I hope to be able to shoot there again soon, perhaps with some more cooperative subjects ;)

I still have more editing to do, but here are some of my favorites so far.

I hope you have a beautiful day!

Linking up with Kim today for:

Friday Photo Journal - Week 21

Thursday, May 16, 2013

Happy Friday friends! I am so glad you could join me this week.

It has been another busy week for me , and I was without my computer for a few days, so that meant no photo editing. I took a lot of photos with my iPhone, as usual, though. We had much warmer temps this week too, so the kids enjoyed lots of water play.  We also made several visits to the river in our neighborhood, where the Canada Geese are out with all their goslings.
Here are my pics for the week. I can't wait to see yours :)

Photo Feedback Week 4

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

It's a new week and time for another Photo Feedback Hop. I'm so glad to see that a few more folks are joining in. I have really enjoyed getting feedback on my work and find it very helpful to have some constructive critiques and also to critique other photographer's photos. It really makes you think through a shot and hone in on what choices you could make differently to make an image stronger.

One of the things I need to work on most, I think, is shooting with intention. Making specific choices about what to include or not include in my images, and how to tell a story and evoke emotion within the frame. So, I am loving this weekly link up hosted by the lovely and talented Kim @ Mom Tried It
I hope you will consider joining in if you haven't yet linked up!

This is a shot I took during our visit to my In-Laws in NC last weekend. Here is my before and after from LR as well as my histogram.

And this is after a little editing in PS4. I warmed it up a bit, ran Coffee Shop's Butterscotch Vintage action and sharpened for the web.

You Might Be A Great Dane Owner If...

Monday, March 15, 2010

You use your microwave as a place to hide food because your dog can reach the top of the refrigerator.

When you wake in the morning and open your eyes, you are staring nose to nose with your dog even though you are laying atop of your queen size bed.

You go for a walk in the neighborhood and everyone stops to meet your dog and ignores your kids.

You go to vacuum your car and most of the fur is up there on the ceiling.

You purchase a large screen TV and you still can't see the program when he stands in front of the television.

Your dog can hide an entire tennis ball (among other things) fully inside his lips and give you that innocent look that says, "What? I'm not eating anything!"

You have given up on water dishes because your dog prefers to use the sink.

You avoid the dogs on your way out the door, so they won't smear your makeup.

You tell your dog to sit and he backs up until his rear hits the sofa.

Your dog can swallow an entire stick of butter in one gulp.

You've learned to force a smile when someone says, "You should just put a saddle on that thing and ride it."

The pizza guys phones you from the car and asks you to come out and get the pizza.

Hey there dog lovers! Be sure to enter my DENTASTIX Prize Pack Giveaway before you go! I'll be choosing 5 winners this Friday. Enter to win great treats for your four-legged friend!

Mck Linky Blog Hop - Remembering 9/11/01

Monday, September 7, 2009

This week's blog hop topic is "Remembering 9/11." I was in Jury Duty. We were excused. I listened to the radio all the way home, confused and in disbelief. I sat glued to the tv at home. In shock and sickened. I received a call from my husband of 10 days. He was at work, as a search and rescue helicopter crewman in the Navy. There were sending him to DC. My father worked across the street from the Pentagon. The lines were jammed. I couldn't get a hold of anyone. It was a long, frightening, and very surreal day.
Where were you on 9/11?
