Sorry I have been MIA. Irene came through last Saturday and we have been without power ever since. Thankfully, we have a generator for the necessities, like Internet ;)  We have been pretty comfortable, aside from Sunday's high temps and no AC, and the cold showers. But, we have hot coffee in the mornings, a few fans and enough power to run the fridge and Internet. Things could be worse.

We were packed up and ready to evacuate on Thursday evening, but the predictions down-graded the storm for our area to Tropical Storm force winds, so we decided to stay. Saturday brought heavy rains and wind guts in the 50-60 MPH range, but noting too terrible. There are many limbs down, a few trees in the area and we saw some minor flooding, but all in all we are very grateful that Irene was easy on us. I remember the devastation from Isabel a few years back, which was much worse.

Unfortunately, I have been very busy juggling kids with cabin-fever, post-storm clean up, and the maintenance of everyday life with cords strung throughout the house and a fridge on the fritz. I have not managed many great shots with my camera in recent days. Still, I wanted to post an update and share a few pics of what we've been up to lately.

I'm joining up again with Chic Homeschool Mama's weekly rewind and sharing my shots from the week.

Love the pics and glad Irene didn't do any major damage to you. I grew up in S. Texas on the coast so I know about hurricanes...they are not fun. I remember once we were without electricity for a week! Not fun at all!
