I didn't know at all one of my grandmothers, though I think I would have liked her from family stories. Her husband I only barely knew as he died when I was super young. My other grandfather died shortly thereafter...he was my buddy. The grandmother that lived the longest was hard to be close with. Though I agree grandparents should be a part of a child's life; mine really weren't.
