Little Things and Big Kids

It isn't often that I get to photograph my 11 year old. As I have mentioned before, he's not too crazy about being in the limelight. But, yesterday he surprised me by asking me to take photos of him! He's been scootering like crazy the past week or so on his Razor scooter and trying new tricks...which make me nervous...but I welcomed the opportunity to capture him doing what he loves. 

He didn't want me to share many of the photos, but I got the okay to post this one. Technically, it's not the best shot, but I love it anyway...because he loves it :)

He's also been asking for a Go Pro camera. I think that would be an awesome creative outlet for him, but it makes me nervous to think of all the crazy tricks he'll try to do to get some cool footage. It is  purchase that will have to wait for now. I am curious though,  do any of you have one? If so, what do you think about it?

P52 - Week 22

Hello my friends! Happy Monday. We are headed out to our PE class this morning and then have a full day of homeschooling. Yep, we are still in school here. We actually go year 'round but to take shorter days in the summer. We still have this year's testing to finish up before we can relax a little. For those of you on summer break. Enjoy!!

Friday Photo Journal - Week 23

Hello friends! It has been a busy and exciting week. I announced the launch of my new photography business website, compliments of Big Step Design, on Wednesday, and on Thursday I was featured on the BP4U blog. I am so honored and thrilled to have been blessed with winning the website design and being offered an interview by BP4U! What a great week! I am also filled with gratitude for the many friends and family members who have been so supportive of my business venture. Thank you!! Your encouragement means the world to me. Mwah!

 We have been busy enjoying the summer temps. The kids have played outside in our puddle of a pool (not more than a bucket really, ha) and we have taken many bike rides and walks. Here's a peek at our week.

Little Things Thursday - Fair Little Ladies and Fairy Dust

I found a fantastic little spot for a photo session last weekend. Two little shops with cheery cottage style and Key West colored paint. I took my girls to shoot there Sunday evening and they gave me a real work out. I was running all over to keep up with them, especially Little Miss, lol. It is always a challenge to coerce your own kids into cooperation in front of the camera. I did manage to get a few shots that I like, among a bunch of throw-aways. I hope to be able to shoot there again soon, perhaps with some more cooperative subjects ;)

I still have more editing to do, but here are some of my favorites so far.
