Thrice in a Lifetime

Saturday, January 30, 2010

Something happened here today, that never does. It snowed! Not just a few flakes in the air, or a light dusting, but an acutal snowball worthy snowfall. For real, ya'll. Oh, I know it's no big deal to you folks in Illinois or Pennsylvania, but here in southern Virginia it shuts the whole place down. I have lived here for 36 years and can count on one hand the number of times we've had enough snow to build a snowman. This is sooo exciting; especially if you are a kid...or kid at heart :P

Here are a couple of pics I took this morning when we had 4-5 inches. Three hours later it is still snowing...big fat flakes. And it is not supposed to let up until tomorrow. How cool is that?!

Love it! Remember when we were kids and we actually got to wear the hats and gloves in the coat closest? I still remember the smell, like mothballs!

I was just talking to dad, he lives in Chesapeake and we were remembering about 10 years ago when it snowed in February.
those were fun time, the radio was playing Snow music from Christmas time.LOL. Have fun in the snow. We weren't suppose to get any here in Maryland but
We did about 10 inches now and still snowing.

I am so jealous. We hardly had any snow this year. One big blizzard and that was really it. Enjoy the snow.

What a great experience for the kids! If it snowed here, it would totally shut down our state, too!
