Friday Photo Journal, February 19, 2016

This week a head cold took me down for the count. It is now making it's rounds though the family. Fortunately, it is milder than some of the other forms of ick making their way through the community. But, it was not much fun to endure and the lingering sinus headache I could do without. I do hope that groundhog was right and spring is on it's way soon. This weekend looks good for us - mild temps and sunshine. I have two client sessions, so I am thrilled to see the warmer weather coming in for the weekend.

Our week included a quiet Valentine's celebration at home with pancakes and plenty of candy. We also finished out the basketball season, had a brief encounter with some snow showers, and then a warmish afternoon of sun and outdoor fun. Here's a peek at what I've put together from this week:

Friday Photo Journal - February 12, 2016

So, last week I had a whole slew of photos to share with you and this week I've got squat. Truth is, I have only picked up my camera once this week and that was during a mentoring session last Sunday. The rest of the week was consumed with homeschooling, cheerleading practice, basketball, Girl Scout meetings, home improvement work on the house and very little else. So, I have a random smattering of images to post and not much noteworthy to share. I had hoped to fuel the flames of inspiration this winter and get really creative with shooting all sorts of things in my "off" season. But, I have had trouble finding the motivation. I'm much more prone to hibernation in the winter. 

Got to play with my favorite munchkin who was a model for my mentoring session.

Also played with some sun flare just because it's cool and I didn't have to get cold to do it. Even though this image breaks all kinds of rules, I still kind of dig it. 

It's got a groovy kind of I-don't-care-gonna-let-my-light-shine-bright vibe. 

And I'm totally cheating with these, but I'm gonna post them anyway because I forgot to when I took them in November.  I'll call them Valentine's roses. ;)

Friday Photo Journal - February 5, 2016

Happy First Friday of February! Say that fives times fast, lol. I hope you have all had a great week! We enjoyed some spring-like weather this week and so I took the kids out for an impromptu field trip to the park. We rarely have time for stuff like that when I'm busy with work (spring though fall). So, when I saw the forecast for 70 degrees,  I figured I'd better jump at the chance while I had it. It was a wild and windy day - my favorite kind - so the kids had fun running around, up and down a big hill, and I had fun capturing all that joy. Here are a few that I have edited so far.

Friday Photo Journal - January 29, 2016

This week kind of threw me for a loop. Lots going on and all I want to do is hibernate. We have been busy with basketball, cheerleading, Girl Scout cookie peddling and school, among other things. Oh yes, and snow! We didn't get as much as most that were hit by the storm but we got some wild weather and enough for the kids to play in. How about you?

Friday Photo Journal, January 15, 2016

I hope it has been a great week for you! I feel like I haven't accomplished much this week, but I was able to spend more time on family matters, which is important. We started basketball & cheerleading for three of my kiddos and the first game was last weekend. It was so much fun to see them in action. My little man was on fire and scored the most points in the game. Not a bad way to start the season! 

Other than kids activities, there was just lots of puppy training, laundry washing, homeschooling, etc., etc., etc. I did manage a few short photo sessions with the kids though. 

I haven't shot for a client in almost 3 weeks and it has been a nice break. But I do have a wedding this weekend, so I will be back in action on Saturday - after the games. ;)

Friday Photo Journal, January 8, 2016

Hey, it's Friday again! Time to recap the week. Actually, I have no idea where this week has gone. Back to homeschooling, trying to finish up wedding galleries from last year, trying to get reorganized and tax-prepped for biz 2016...and just generally trying to keep up with life with 4 kids and 3 pups has left me exhausted. I think I am still recovering from a 2015 hangover. Last year was so jam-packed and I am utterly depleted. Hence that late posting, once again....I'm sorry!

Here are a couple of pics I took over the week, but honestly, I didn't pick up my camera much. I hope your year is off to a bright start! I'm working to pull myself up by the bootstraps for 2016. I'll get there. Sooner than later, I hope!
