Jackson loves listening to "Daddy dance" (aka Dave Matthews Band) on Dad's iPad. At 2, he's got the device and iTunes all figured out. He'll even climb up on the back of the arm chair to pluck it from it's perch on the bookshelf and start it up himself. If it isn't well hidden, I'll walk into the living room to find him singing along to "Don't Drink Da Water" or "Shake It Wike A Monkey," his favorite songs.
Think he'll be asking Santa for an iPad this year? Boy are we in trouble!
Happy WW to all :) Thanks for stopping by today. Your comments make my day!

More On Getting Unstuck for Moms - A Guest Post by Lynn Banis
Monday, July 5, 2010
Hi Moms! Last week I wrote a post on getting unstuck. Thanks for the great feedback – I’m glad it was useful to you. Today I am going to give you another tool for getting unstuck and getting the things you want. This is a fun one and is a “craft” you can do with your kids. It is about attracting and achieving something you really want in your life.
You can do this for any goal: attracting and getting a new car, a job, better financial stability, you name it. For the sake of illustration let’s say you want a family vacation that is safe, fun, economical, healthy and includes well-behaved children (just had to add that one .)
First gather:
Poster board (any size)
Magazines
Scissors
Glue sticks
Tape
You can do this alone, with your kids or let your kids do their own along side of you so gather enough materials for everyone.
Now, go through all of the magazines and cut out pictures and even some phrases that depict all of your topics. If you want to go to the beach, find beach scenes; if you want to go to a theme park, find picture of theme parks, etc. Once you have cut out all of your pictures lay them out on your poster board in a collage. I like to keep the topics together – they seem to have more power that way.
When you are happy with the way your collage looks glue it down with your glue stick. Hang it somewhere where you will see it daily like the refrigerator, your mirror or your office. When you look at it imagine how wonderful it will be when you have it. You don’t really have to do more than that although you can. Perhaps the kids will have a lemonade stand or garage sale to help get some vacation money, etc.
Be patient and trust the laws of attraction. Some version of your vision will show itself and you will be very amazed and happy with it. Enjoy the journey!

Quotable Sunday - Independence Day

Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die. ~Dwight D. Eisenhower
In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved. ~Franklin D. Roosevelt
Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it. ~Thomas Paine
Those who won our independence believed liberty to be the secret of happiness and courage to be the secret of liberty. ~Louis D. Brandeis
Freedom is nothing but a chance to be better. ~Albert Camus
My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy! ~Thomas Jefferson
What is the essence of America? Finding and maintaining that perfect, delicate balance between freedom "to" and freedom "from." ~Marilyn vos Savant, in Parade
How often we fail to realize our good fortune in living in a country where happiness is more than a lack of tragedy. ~Paul Sweeney
Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves. ~Abraham Lincoln
Freedom is the oxygen of the soul. ~Moshe Dayan
We are free, truly free, when we don't need to rent our arms to anybody in order to be able to lift a piece of bread to our mouths. ~Ricardo Flores Magon, speech, 31 May 1914
We on this continent should never forget that men first crossed the Atlantic not to find soil for their ploughs but to secure liberty for their souls. ~Robert J. McCracken
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. ~Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759
I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. ~James Madison, speech, Virginia Convention, 1788
We cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home. ~Edward R. Murrow
Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves. ~D.H. Lawrence, Classical American Literature, 1922
The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding. ~Louis D. Brandeis

Happy 4th of July! Fun Ideas for Kids and Families
From History.com: Independence Day, commonly known as July 4th or the Fourth of July, commemorates the Continental Congress’ adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The document, primarily written by Thomas Jefferson, served as a formal announcement that the 13 American colonies were no longer part of the British Empire and would henceforth be free and independent states. Did you know the first celebration took place on July 8th, however? Learn more with these short videos.
Looking for a way to beat this heat this weekend? The History Channel will feature The Revolution series (13 back-to-back episodes) Saturday, July 3rd from 11am/10c. Check your local listings, then whip up some Red, White and Blue snacks and treats for a history marathon.
