If you had told me years ago that I would one day have four kids, and homeschool them, I would have thought you were crazy. In my twenties, I could scarcely imagine being married, and I really thought I'd have no more than two kids. I liked my job, liked my independence and was far too attached to shoe shopping to think I could stay home all day raising four kids on one income.  Fast forward twelve years and here I am.

Life doesn't always work out the way you want it to. Instead, it works out the way you need it to.

My days start out with several cups of coffee since I rarely sleep more than a couple of hours before someone wakes, calling my name. I haven't slept through the night since I was single.

Most days we shuffle between school at home and various kid activities...homeschool P.E., Girl Scouts,  soccer, cheerleading, drum lessons, field trips...we juggle them all along with the usual errands and doctor visits. Our days are pretty full.

We also spend lots of time playing games, putting on talent shows, visiting the library, baking cookies and taking long walks around the neighborhood. I love having my iPhone to capture these simple moments, when it's just not practical to lug around my dslr.

When the kids are finally settled in their beds at night, that's when I catch up on editing, blogging, lesson planning and more laundry.

While the noise, chaos, lack of sleep and never-ending piles of laundry sometimes drive me batty, I wouldn't have it any other way. I am blessed with the honor of caring for four uniquely amazing beautiful souls, and I couldn't be more grateful.
