Happy weekend all! Can you believe it's March already? Work is picking back up for me and I've been terrible about keeping up with family photos. I had the best intentions at the beginning of the year, but I'm failing on the home front, as usual. We've also been busy with extra-curricular activities and the everyday whirlwind of life for a family of 6 (aka endless piles of laundry, trip after trip to the grocery store, chauffeuring to and fro, etc. etc.). I have only some dog photos to share this week, and they are lazy iPhone pics at that. But that's all there is.

I'm starting to see blooms already this year! Spring is coming early, perhaps. The forsythia, daffodils, hyacinths and even the Bradford pears are in bloom. The tulip trees are budding up too! So, if we can get rid of the dreary gray skies and soggy rain, I'll be motivated to go out and take some nature photos at least.

Happy Friday to you! How was your week?
We've been busy with the usual activities. We did have a little field trip on Monday. Our Girl Scout troop headed out for some seasonal fun - though, at 81 degrees, it felt more like summer than fall.
We went on a hayride and toured a small local farm. We selected pumpkins and a few gourds from the pumpkin patch, then ventured into the corn maze. It was a beautiful sunny day, with blue skies and white puffy clouds hanging over us. I didn't take my DSLR, but my iPhone was put to good use capturing the fun:

Happy weekend friends! This week was another hectic one. Work is piling on and keeping up with the kids' activities, and home obligations is a full time job. I am completely exhausted.  No rest for the wicked though, I have a 9 hour wedding tomorrow.

Last weekend we enjoyed a visit with my Dad and Stepmom. We ventured north to a new Revolutionary War museum in Yorktown. We all really enjoyed the trip! The museum was fantastic and full of interesting exhibits. We watched an immersive film, with a surround screen and sound, plus special effects like the seats shaking when canons went off and smoke creeping in around us. It was pretty cool!

The kids really loved the working colonial farm as well. It was a very hands-on experience, and our oldest even got to participate in the canon firing demonstration. All in all it was a great and memorable day.  If you ever have an opportunity to visit, I highly recommend it. I only took my phone along so all pics are iPhone:

I swear I don't know how the weeks zip by so quickly. It's Friday again?? Already? Amazing how time flies when you are tied to a computer all day. I guess I'd better catch up! I almost missed this post because I didn't realize the weekend so near.

Last weekend I had another birthday. I wish they'd stop coming by so often. Anyway, I was totally spoiled by my family and it was a pretty great day, despite getting older.  This week's recap is all iPhone (hubs surprised me with a 10 - yep spoiled). It's mostly birthday celebration, plus a few post session beach shots. The rest of the week was all about work and car repairs. (Remember that pole at the bank? Yeah, my car does too.)

Happy weekend all! Last week we had lots going on with family visitors, dance rehearsals, the AnimeCon & Father's Day, plus work, school and all that other life stuff. It was a great week though - lots of fun memories were made! My oldest girlie performed with some friends at the AnimeCon - which was very exciting and a new venture for us. I spent a lot of time wandering downtown while she rehearsed. Sooooo, you get lots of phone pics from lovely downtown Norfolk this week. ;)

Happy December 1st! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here. Well, we put the tree and indoor decorations up, but the outdoors still needs work. I have about 2% of my holiday shopping done, and zero baking and zero wrapping accomplished. Not much will happen this weekend either, as I have a 7 hour wedding to deliver, plus 5 galleries due and two sessions to shoot. Yikes. : /

This week's festivities included a belated birthday celebration for Dad, sibling shenanigans, cute cousins, holiday displays & advent, and an angel spotted in the clouds - all brought to you by iPhone. What have you been up to?

Happy weekend friends! It has been another week of nose to the grindstone here. Productive but painful. I have done nothing but spend just about every waking hour either working or tending to our sick crew. After a week of disinfecting, habitual hand-washing and pumping vitamins, I have finally succumbed to illness. I don't know that it's strep, which I had many times as a kid, or just some cold virus, but it's got me. Fortunately, I don't feel as poorly as my children seem to, at least not yet. I hope it passes quickly as I have a TON more editing due and several client appointments this weekend, including a sunrise session.

My images this week include a trip to Fort Monroe for a client session. Fort Monroe, named for James Monroe, was completed in 1836 and has seen such visitors as Abraham Lincoln and Edgar Allen Poe, Jefferson Davis & Franklin D. Roosevelt, among others. The fort was constructed during the War of 1812, but the site was "discovered" by the first settlers of Jamestown in 1607. It is a unique and interesting historic spot to say the least.

Other random shots include house-bound craziness and a beach pano. How was your week?

Happy Friday friends! I hope you've had a great week. Our week was productive, but I'll be honest, I am utterly exhausted. Back to school, back to kids' activities, busy portrait season, adulting...all of it is a bit overwhelming at the moment.

And in all day-to-day madness, I really haven't taken any personal pics. When I think about it, it has actually been months, many months, since I have spent any time on anything creative just for fun. I shoot all the time for clients, but any creative exploration has fallen by the wayside. I miss that freedom.

Anyway, my eyes are crossing and my kids are late for bed, again, so I'm posting the few iPhone pics I have to share and hopping off for the night. Here's hoping next week is a bit less hectic.

Happy weekend all! This week went by so quickly with the holiday, back to school, client sessions... the days are a blur and I'm totally exhausted. I have accomplished quite a bit, but looking at the mountain ahead, it seems like not enough.

We did have some family fun last weekend. Hubs and I took the kids out for dinner Friday (totally casual sandwich shop, but super yummy). It was our anniversary (16 years!). I was supposed to work, so we didn't have plans for a date night. I ended up not having to work after all, so we headed out for a quick bite and enjoyed some live music.  We also spent some time pool-side over the weekend, and I hit the beach for a couple of client sessions. What have you been up to?
All iPhone pics this week :)

Hey friends! Another week down and July continues to be crazy busy for us. And also crazy hot. I'm fortunate that most of my sessions are on the beach, because the humidity is awful out.

I have been so busy with work that I have neglected to take many personal photos lately.  I hope your week was more exciting than mine. What have you been up to?

All iPhone this week.

Hey there friends, I hope you had a great week and a wonderful Father's Day weekend. We celebrated with some pool time and a delicious southern barbecue feast.  We've had a lot of rain lately, so it was great to have a warm, sunny pool day.

I also hit the beach again for some family sessions. The sunset the other day was absolutely amazing! As I was leaving the beach, I turned around and saw a faint rainbow in the clouds. It was quite a happy little surprise.  If you look closely, you can just make it out toward the right side in the panos. How was your week?

All pics this week were taken with my iPhone.

Happy Friday all! This was a birthday week for us, so we celebrated at the pool last weekend and then at home this week. My big girl is now 12. Not sure how that happened so quickly! A Ukulele was at the top of her list this year. She opened it Wednesday, and has already taught herself a few chords. :)

Other than birthday fun, I spent a gorgeous evening at the beach shooting a surprise proposal on Saturday. It was exciting, but I did wait around for quite a while for my clients to show up. While waiting, I snapped a few photos and some panos, of course.

The beach photos are all iPhone:
