Happy Friday all! Can you believe it's October already? Holy cow. I noticed the leaves turning this week and it hit me that fall is really here, which means the holidays are just around the corner. I'm SO not ready! I do love cooler temps and fall breezes though. Now if the 80 bazillion mosquitos (left behind from the monsoon) would vacate, that would be fantastic. Then I might actually enjoy the outdoors.

This week's pics are pups! These two are a constant source of entertainment and tomfoolery. Always full of energy and a bit naughty, but only because they think they are attention-starved. They often try to climb in my lap while I'm working at my desk, or come lay their heads on my arm, which makes it impossible to get much done. They each out-weigh me, so you can imagine how trying to work around them would be an uphill battle! I love them dearly though. They are gentle giants in every way.

I really didn't pick up the camera much otherwise. It's so gray and buggy out lately that I'm not feeling very inspired. How about you? Have you been inspired lately?

Happy Friday friends! We are finally stepping off of the ark here. It's been a very wet and wild week with several days of monsoon-like rain and flooding. Fortunately, we were prepared with sandbags so we avoided any major catastrophes. They actually closed the local school because of rain and flooding, which has never happened before in my 40+ years of living here.

After last Friday's sunrise elopement, followed by a family beach session, I was pretty much toast. The rest of the weekend was a blur of work, puppy care (our dane boy was neutered and had a gastropexy) and not much sleep. Then the monsoon ensued and this week was a washout. I'm really ready for a vacation from life for a bit. I could sleep for about 3 weeks, I think.

Today I'm sharing a few iPhone snaps from my early morning venture (I am not an early bird by any means, but it was pretty awesome to see the sunrise at the beach), along with shots of our puppy boy and then the kids exploring the lake in our back yard.

Happy Friday to you! I will admit from the get go that this is a pathetic post. I scoured my shots for something share-worthy and came up empty handed this week. I have had many client sessions, been lots of places, survived week 2 of homeschooling and still have nothing much to show for it. Hundreds of images were taken, but all for clients.

I have just one sunset shot that is really a throw away test shot, but I figured something besides my sad apologies had to take up space here. The week has been so hectic and stressful. The weekend promises only more of the same with several sessions, a sick girlie at home, a pup recovering from surgery and so much editing piling up it boggles my mind. So there you have it. I admit defeat this go 'round. I hope your week was more fruitful.

Happy weekend to you! I was really hoping to have more family photos edited for this week's post, but the week got away from me...back to homeschooling, client photo sessions, orthodontics appointments...and only 4 days to get it all done. Two more sessions and a wedding to shoot before I dive into next week, which will be even busier. Yep, fall is here!

I did take my girl out in the back yard one day for a mini shoot.  I played around with long exposures, loosely inspired by the work of Francesca Woodman. I'm sure they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but it was exciting and liberating to do something new and creative.
Here are a few of images from that quick session:

Hey friends, welcome to the weekend! I apologize for getting this week's post up late. I had a session at the south end last night, followed by a long rainy ride home. And today we are prepping for the storm and inevitable flooding this weekend. Our yard and garage flood during big storms and it's always a huge mess. Especially with 3 great danes going in and out all day. Anyway, looks like my holiday weekend will be wet and laundry filled - that is if we keep power. Here's hoping!

This week I have only iPhone pics to share. I went north to Williamsburg for a family session and south to Sandbridge. Each about an hour away in either direction, also went to the Virginia Beach oceanfront for a family session (a part of the beach I don't frequent) and the storm was kicking up the sea as the wind whipped around. I usually take some iPhone pics when I visit new places - anyone else obsessed with panos like me?
