Aloha Friday

Friday, January 21, 2011

Greetings friends! I hope you've had a great week. We had some warm weather and enjoyed a bit of time outdoors. Unfortunately tomorrow's high will be 28. I'm ready for Spring! Most of the winter here is cold and snowless, just gray. My least favorite kind of weather!

My question for this week is: What is your favorite winter weather comfort food? Got a great recipe to share? I'm adding a linky here so feel free to share your posts with recipes!

Thanks for coming by! Be sure to stop by An Island Life for more Aloha Friday fun.

My favorite winter comfort food is grilled cheese sandwiches with hot chocolate and marshmallows...I like to dip my grilled cheese in the hot chocolate... I know, I'm weird! :)

Second favorite is beef stew simmered in the crock pot all day... :)

I'm with you - if it's going to be cold, there needs to be snow to get rid of that gray winter drab. :)

My favorite winter comfort food is a tie between Corn Chowder and Clam Chowder.

Love minestrone soup in the crock pot, matzoh ball soup, chedder and broccoli, or most other soups.

leek and potato soup:

fry 2 chopped leeks for a couple of mins before adding in 5 good sized sliced potatos and 900 ml of vegetable stock, leave to cook for 20 minutes, then whisk it all up in the blender - add a swirl of milk or cream to each serving and serve with crusty bready - absolutely delicious :-)

I would have to say Cream of Chicken Wild Rice Soup.
