Aloha! Happy Friday! I hope that you have all had a pleasant week.My question this week is what was your favorite school lunch as a kid?

As an elementary scholar, I remember it being a good day when they had chicken patty sandwiches. By the time I reached Jr. High, chicken patties were available for purchase every day. Chicken patties and fries were a staple of most kids diet at my school. With an ice cream sandwich or brown mule for dessert. (I believe the sandwich was $.35, fries $.25, diet coke $.50 and ice cream .$50).

I'm pretty certain that the chicken patty was nothing more than chicken toes, ground, pressed, breaded and fried. On a white bun with a squirt of ketchup, they had absolutely zero nutritional value. If I had to eat one now, I would surely gag. Blech! But, as a kid, they were tops.

So, what was your favorite school lunch?

Pizza and hot dogs were pretty popular days when I was a kid.

I loved the school's pizza and fries. I probably would not even attempt to eat them now, but they were awesome when I was a kid. Aloha and take care.

Our school had the BEST hot sandwiches. I remember the pizza being good too but if I ate it today I would probably disagree.

My fave food at school were the grilled cheese sandwiches, and they were only $1!!

I was a lunchbox kid - mom never let me buy lunch. I can probably count on one hand how many hot lunches I got at school and they would all be pizza that I begged and begged and drove her crazy to buy me. I was a PB&J kid.

I loved their tuna fish sandwiches. I ate one just about every other day, since some of their other food was kinda gross. lol

I never ate school lunch in elementary school, but in junior high, lunch consisted of Funyuns and a fruit punch! :D

My favorite days in elementary school were when my Mom would drop off Taco Bell right before lunch. She's the best!

I remember it well. There were 3:
Grilled cheese (which I don't think was actually grilled)
Little pizzas
and those packaged hamburgers.

All with fries and choc milk.

I was just asking my niece about school lunches-she said hers are pretty gross.

I used to love the pizza, hot bagels and the chicken fricasee. I love food...not too picky ;)

I remember loving the pizza on Fridays. It is probably really gross but I can remember loving that day because of the pizza.

I loved mexican food day! Oh yummy a burrito with cheese and salsa.....

And I hated when my mom packed me lunch LOL it was always just a PB&J (that was smashed and gooey by lunchtime) with a whole apple or orange....and that was it.

Mine was fried chicken. That was the only day I didn't bring a lunch from home. When I was a kid we had these local ladies that worked in the cafeteria and they would make HOMEMADE cinnamon rolls! Unfortunatly, they always served them with beefaroni or something gross. I was usually able to trade something from my lunch box for one though. If only they would have served them with the fried chicken!!
