Thursday, January 4, 2018

Greetings friends! I hope you are enjoying your first week of 2018! Like most of the east coast, we started back to school this week and then were promptly interrupted by snowmageddon. I didn't really think we were going to get all that much snow - they were calling for 3-6" - but it was supposed to start snowing in the early evening and we saw only a couple flakes off and on. Then, overnight we got smacked with it and woke up to about 8".  It continued most of the day and we now have at least 12.

We took the day as a family day (though hubs worked some from home) and played in the snow for as long as we could stand the bitter cold. I made a white bean chicken chili (a new recipe to me and so yummy) and my oldest girl made snowball cookies. We also watched a movie together. All around it was a fun and relaxing day. It's rare for us to have so much down time together, and I soaked up every minute!

What have you been up to this week?
Link up your posts below and have a fabulous weekend!

Looks like a lot of snow fun, and more time off from school--yippee!

That is a decent amount of snow when you aren't used to it. Glad you were able to get in some family time because of it.

Gina,

Not a lot of snow by many standards, but quite a "blizzard" for those of us south of the Mason Dixon line. The whole place shuts down - rightly so considering southerners have NO idea how to drive in it. ;)

Yes, Pat, lots of fun indeed! Since it was bitterly cold anyway, the snow is a welcome diversion. :)

I enjoyed your beautiful snowy photos and it’s nice that you got some family time. We are under a blanket of snow as well, as I reflect upon the year gone past. Happy new year to you and yours and thank you for hosting!
