Linking up today at Flowers on Saturday. I caught this busy guy yesterday afternoon. There was a cherry tree full of them. I pollen flying above him reminds me of welding sparks. Okay, maybe that's weird, but it was fun to watch him hard at work. I don't think he had a clue I was there.

Dogwood Blooms - Shoot. Edit. Submit.
Thursday, March 22, 2012
Here's my pick for this week's favorite photo. I have been loving the dogwood blooms! We have four dogwoods in our yard and they are such gorgeous trees, especially in early Spring. Unfortunately, over the past couple of days the pine pollen has dropped and we're now covered in "green snow" belch. Hoping for some rain to wash it all clean so I can get back to snapping ;)

On Wheels - Panning in Photography
After reading Sarah and Ashley's post on Tuesday I decided to try my hand at some more panning shots.
My kids are always busy and capturing them in focus is a challenge. They move so quickly, in and out of light and through cluttered backgrounds. Composing a pleasing shot can be quite a challenge. While I wish the shots below had a more interesting background, I still love how they turned out. They hint at the "full speed ahead" personalities of these crazy kiddos of mine.
I have really had fun playing with this technique!! Be sure to read this week's Tutorial Tuesday for some how-to tips. And you can check out my first attempts here.

Tutorial Tuesday - Panning
Sarah and Ashley have some great tips up today about taking panning shots. I shot these the other day in the back yard and had planned on sharing them this week, so this works out perfectly. I wasn't 100% pleased with them, so I think I'll review their tips and give it another shot. Have you tried panning? It makes for some fun and creative exposures.
For more info, be sure to check out their post about panning by clicking on the button at the bottom of this post!
