Friday Photo Journal - Week 33

Hey there friends! Happy Friday. Judging from all the instagram images this week, it looks like many of you are winding down summer and heading back to school. It is always a little startling to me when I hear about back to school in early August. 

I've always lived in SE Virginia and we start after Labor Day here. 

I still don't feel as though I've had much of a summer break, so I hope to find time to enjoy some fun in the sun before we do head back to school. This summer has seemed so short, and oddly cool too. We haven't had time for many of the usual backyard bbq's or trips to the ice cream shop. And we haven't been to the beach once to play. I've been many times, but only to shoot sessions and pack it up to come back home. I hate to complain...but I'm not ready for back to school or Fall!

Little Things and Crafty Girls

I loved, loved, loved making crafts and taking art classes when I was a kid. I'll admit that now that I'm older I have less patience for the mess it creates. That makes me a little sad. I don't want to be the frumpington that doesn't let her kids explore and create because she's too worried about being tidy. So, I try to reign in my urge to banish the glittery sprinkles and paint-smeared fingers. It does my heart good to watch them at work. I know one day my house will be tidy and I will miss the mess and chaos of free spirited children.

WW - What I've Been Up To

I have been busy this summer with client sessions and consequently haven't had much time to shoot and edit images of my own little buggers. So, I thought I would share a peek of what I've been up to.
It has been fun stretching my wings and getting creative with different subjects.  One of my favorite things to do is plan a themed session. I love creating a story and selecting props that support that idea. I recently completed a superhero session with an adorable 7 year old. His mom wanted to commemorate his birthday in a fun and unique way. Since he is a fan of superheroes, we came up with a session based loosely on the Superman character. This little guy ate it up and I had a blast shooting this.

P52- Week 32

Happy Monday my friends! We have enjoyed some beautiful weather here over the past several days. I don't know what happened to the hot, hazy, humid August heat we normally endure, but I am loving these gorgeous breezy, sunny days in the mid 80's. I only wish I had more time to spend outdoors instead of in front of the computer. This summer has been filled with work rather than play.

When hubs is home at dinner time, instead of at school or work, we eat together and then take a family walk or bike ride. Those are my favorite evenings and some of my favorite family memories. The kids seem to be growing up so quickly (we have two more birthdays this month!), and I know these days of togetherness won't last forever. 

 Here's a shot I took with my phone last night while we were riding. 

Not a perfect image, but a perfect moment nonetheless.

Friday Photo Journal - Week 32 Linky

Hello my friends! I apologize for the late posting this week. My computer was in the shop for a few days and I am just getting back up and running. 

I hope you all have had a great week! It has been a busy one here, even without my computer. I was blessed to spend an hour or so with a very dear old friend who was in town briefly. I also had several new bookings for sessions this month. Yahoo! :)

Now that I have my computer back, I have a bunch of work to catch up on this weekend!

P52- Week 31

Hi friends! I had two sessions this weekend, so lots of editing to do, and my computer is acting a little wacky so it will be heading to the shop this morning :(  I will do my best to visit you all via my phone. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've been up to!
