Wow - due any day! You must ...Hi, New to your blog! Wow - due any day! You must have your hands full. My 8 month old son, first child was named after his daddy's middle name, Orel - it is pretty uncommon (and we pronounce it O'rel, not Oral like most), and his dad is already a junior and didn't want to continue with that. Then my husband actually dropped his own first name so that he is Orel now as well, although those who know him won't stop calling them what they previously did. My son doesn't become junior though because he has a middle name (my grandfather's middle name - as my husband felt welcomed by my grandparents in our interracial marriage) and now my husband doesnt. So that was my long answer to your short question :)Meaghanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00103906020201775573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2123819765212119733.post-30407462642481757732010-07-25T13:07:30.116-04:002010-07-25T13:07:30.116-04:00I chose first names that I really loved and then w...I chose first names that I really loved and then we gave them our first names for their middle names.Liz Mayshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13960276167677132860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2123819765212119733.post-80924237034242439162010-07-25T02:32:22.723-04:002010-07-25T02:32:22.723-04:00I just chose names that I really liked that had so...I just chose names that I really liked that had some kind of Hawaiian sound.kailanihttp://islandlife808.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2123819765212119733.post-73217676930916770912010-07-24T20:26:04.159-04:002010-07-24T20:26:04.159-04:00We chose family and scriptural names for the most ...We chose family and scriptural names for the most part.Lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01522246792771832214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2123819765212119733.post-79994074822347430382010-07-24T17:52:14.827-04:002010-07-24T17:52:14.827-04:00We did give our kids family names but we weren'...We did give our kids family names but we weren't opposed to non-family names. Our son is named after my hubby and father in law, but instead of making him "the third" (hubby is a Jr.) we gave him my fathers name as his middle name to honor both sides. My daughter has a real old-fashioned name (which unfortunately is now very popular) which was my great great grandmothers name. The Black Sheephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07359896174828097556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2123819765212119733.post-80431504931730366482010-07-24T08:24:38.810-04:002010-07-24T08:24:38.810-04:00I very specifically did NOT choose family names fo...I very specifically did NOT choose family names for my kids - my hubby is a "3rd" and I didn't want my son to be a "4th". Both my kids are actually named from TV character names I liked (though my hubby thinks that our son is named after a hockey player from his favorite team...shhh...lol). But I did give both of them middle names that start with "A" like mine and hubby's.

I am a new follower from MBC and would love for you to stop by my blog sometime - http://www.createyourtraditions.com. :)Beth Reedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13715405337734974186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2123819765212119733.post-37600531728385148272010-07-23T14:40:55.292-04:002010-07-23T14:40:55.292-04:00I choose names I like and if necessary or if it ac...I choose names I like and if necessary or if it actually fits, I'll use a family name for the middle name.Colette Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04844522784600855200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2123819765212119733.post-24335023903627533962010-07-23T11:21:15.606-04:002010-07-23T11:21:15.606-04:00My mom changed my name 3 times within the first we...My mom changed my name 3 times within the first week of my life. Their first names were just names that we liked, but, we gave them middle names that were family names - except for our youngest - we had trouble coming up with a name for him.
