Gymboree Spring Line Review

Sunday, March 31, 2013

Hello friends! I hope you are enjoying a bit of spring cheer this weekend! Winter seems to be dragging on a bit this year, but the buds have begun to pop here and I know the warmth will set in soon. I am writing today because was recently given the opportunity to review some of the clothing line from Gymboree.

I was able to select some adorable spring outfits for my girls. There were SO many cute styles from which to choose that it was really difficult to make a decision! I wanted everything in the store. I love how each Gymboree line is full of fun mix and match styles and accessories. I finally settled on two sweet, sunny outfits from the Daffodil Garden collection. I love the bright, cheerful colors! I chose a sweet twirly dress and sandals for my 2 year old, with matching flower hair clips. And for my 7 year old, I chose a jean skirt and flouncy top, with matching sandals. Each item has beautiful daffodil embellishments, and little ruffle details.

I have always been impressed with the quality of clothing from Gymboree. The clothes are made from the softest fabrics, in lovely colors and patterns that wear well and don't fade after washing. These clothes hold up to the abuse of my rough and tumble kids. In fact, I think nearly all the hand-me-downs we have kept are from Gymboree. They simply outlast most brands and stay beautiful for years. You can't beat that value!

I was truly hoping for some gorgeous sunny spring weather and a backdrop of beautiful bulbs to showcase these styles. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas and it has been pretty chilly and rainy instead. I did manage to get the girls out on a semi-warm day and have some fun. They adore their new clothes and I know they will get plenty use this spring and summer.

Be sure to check out the latest styles at Gymboree.com!

*I was given a gift card to purchase items from Gymboree in order to facilitate this review. All opinions herein are my own, based on my personal experience with the products.*

Friday Photo Journal - Week 14

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Hello my friends! I am so glad you have stopped by. I hope you have enjoyed a week full of blessings. At our house, at the prompting of my 7 year old, we have recently started a new dinner time tradition where we each give our high and low for the day. It is a fun way to connect with the kids over life's ups and downs, and it really helps us count our blessings.
So, out of curiosity, what was your high/low for the week?

My high was working on some personal photography projects that really have me pushing myself creatively. I feel alive and connected when I can indulge that part of myself. Oh yes, and my uber-awesome husband generously purchased a beautiful new lens and some lighting gear for me. More on that soon!  My low was worrying over life's business matters like insurance, taxes, etc.

P52 - Week 12

Monday, March 25, 2013

Hi friends!  I spent some time over the weekend shooting my sweet soon-to-be eight year old. I am thankful to have a willing model. We had icky weather for most of the weekend, even a little snow, but we snuck out in between the drops and flakes. I hope spring makes a return very soon!

How was your weekend?

Friday Photo Journal - Week 13

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Happy Friday!  We've been busy. Here's a peek at our past week:

We enjoyed a little sunshine after the rain.
Little Miss is my sunshine every morning.
We had green pancakes for St. Paddy's day.
The kids created a fun obstacle course in our homeschool PE class.
We spent some time at the park.
And swinging in the back yard.
Captured some green clovers.
Little Miss "helped" with the laundry.
And I have been loving that late afternoon golden spring light!

WW- Tulip Trees

Greetings friends! Today I'm sharing one of the early bloomers are here. I love the tulip trees in spring. In our yard we have dogwoods that are still bare. Fortunately, many of our neighbors have these lovely tulips in bloom with their soft cups of color.

P52 - Week 11

Monday, March 18, 2013

Greetings my friends and happy Monday! I hope you had a relaxing weekend and enjoyed your St. Patrick's Day. We didn't do much to celebrate, other than eating some green pancakes. The weather was cold and dreary and we were worn out from a full day of soccer on Saturday. I also spent much of the weekend watching CreativeLive's workshop with Roberto Valenzuela. It was packed full of info! I really learned a ton about scouting locations, posing, lighting, marketing and more. I'm excited to put it into practice.

Thanks for stopping in! Your comments always brighten my day :) I can't wait to see your pics.

Friday Photo Journal - Week 11

Thursday, March 14, 2013

Hello sweet peeps! Is it Friday already?!  Whew, it's been a busy week. I hope this weekend brings a little time to unwind. We'll be hitting the soccer fields again and probably eating some green cookies and Irish Soda Bread. What's on your agenda?

Here's my recap of the week:

I love seeing the buds begin to pop. I have to photograph them. Spring is so full of wonder and beauty! I am especially loving the way the light is changing in the afternoons,
so golden and warm, it is just beautiful! Now I just need more time to shoot.
My Little Man is becoming quite the musician and really wants the wardrobe to match.
I love him in his new hat, which he wears nearly every day.
Lots of fun with Little Miss this week, escaping to the deck in the early morning, sporting her chucks, jumping outside, playing piano and snuggling with Dad.
